Clarise Ashworth Joins Firm as Litigation Associate | |

A. Clarise Ashworth, a trial lawyer who practices in the areas of general civil litigation, complex business litigation and environmental litigation, has joined the law firm of McAfee & Taft as an associate. She most recently worked as a litigation associate at the law firm of Hershenson, Carter, Scott & McGee in Norwich, VT, where her diverse practice included general litigation, tax appeals, criminal cases, and complex environmental litigation.
After earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2004, the Oklahoma native went on to graduate summa cum laude with her masters of science degree in environmental law and cum laude with her juris doctor from Vermont Law School in 2007. While in law school, she also served as a full-time judicial extern to Justice Brian L. Burgess of the Vermont Supreme Court.
Ashworth’s career experience also includes working as a paralegal for a small Oklahoma City civil and criminal litigation firm for five years prior to entering law school.
Ashworth is a member of the Vermont and American Bar Associations.
